Greetings Set Dancers and All Who Wear the Green!

This month you have not one but TWO opportunities to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Share the joy of historical Irish music and dance on March 8 AND 22, 2010. All dances will be taught; no experience or partner necessary. As usual we will meet upstairs at the Brocach, on the Capitol Square at 7 W. Main St. The more the merrier -- we would love to have you join us!

Live Dance Music at the Brocach tomorrow evening!

Hello Madison Set Dancers,

We have a rare opportunity to dance to live music Monday evening @ the Brocach! The Capitol Ceili Band, featuring Alan Ng on fiddle and/or accordion and Bryan Whiting on flute, will be on hand to liven up our dance experience. Sets will most likely include the Caledonian, the Clare Plain, Clare Myserks, as well as others, perhaps even requests! 7:00pm @ 7 W. Main St. on the square. Please come -- the more the merrier!

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Midwinter Set Dance Weekend in Milwaukee, Feb. 26-28. Friday and Saturday evening ceilis with John Whelan; workshops during the day Saturday with instruction by Mick Mulkerrin, one of Ireland's premier dance teachers. Set Dancing @ the Brocach

REMINDER:

Irish set dancing continues upstairs at the Brocach on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. Join us Monday, January 11, 2010, 7:00pm, at Madison's Brocach pub, on the Square at 7 W. Main St. All sets are taught, no partners necessary.

Set dancing on Monday, January 25, 2010 with live music from the Capitol Ceili Band featuring Alan Ng and Bryan Whiting! Also at the Brocach at 7pm.

Last Minute Set Dancing!

Dear Set Dancers,

An opportunity has opened up for us to dance at the Brocach tomorrow (Monday) evening, November 2, 2009, at 7:00pm. We had little advance notice for this, so I apologize for the last minute message.

If you cannot make it tomorrow evening, you're still in luck! We will be dancing our regular schedule, 2nd and 4th Mondays, November 9 and 23 and December 14. There will be NO set dancing on December 28, 2009.

The next monthly dance in Milwaukee with live music will be on Saturday, November 28, during Thanksgiving weekend. If you would like to attend, let me know and we can make carpooling plans.

Set Dancing at the Brocach, Monday October 12, 2009

Hello Set Dancers,

Just a reminder that there will be open set dancing at the Brocach next Monday evening, October 12, at 7:00pm. We would love to have you join us. Set dancing will normally continue on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month at the same time. Occasionally the Brocach may displace us with a private party, in which case we would either have to cancel or switch to a 1st or 3rd Monday. We hope that doesn't happen often!

Also, there will be set dance in Milwaukee on Saturday, October 24 at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. Dancing starts at 8:00, with instruction on the 'Set of the Month' at 7:00pm. We generally have a small carpool going from Madison. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know:

Madison Set Dancers @ Brocach April 6

Hello again Madison-area set dancers,

After a year of silence, set dance stirs its feet again in Madison finally. But your enthusiasm is needed to keep it going! The Brocach has agreed to host a one-off date for us, Monday, April 6, at 7 pm. Depending on how it goes - how many of you bring your good spirits and energy - then more dates can be arranged.

As in the past, dancing will be up on the second floor of the Brocach. We're counting at least on Bryan Whiting, Heidi Hakseth, and Heidi's many dance followers to get their feet out there. The more, the merrier!
