Last set dance for the season Monday at Escape Java

Dear Madison-area set dancers,

Come dance at Escape Java tomorrow night, Monday, April 21, from 7 to 9 pm or so, for some casual sets. Claudia Rohr and Steve Pike will both be available to lead us through some sets. I'll provide live music as usual. More info about Escape Java is here:

Donations of a couple bucks from each dancer would help cover the $15 room-reservation fee tomorrow night.

NOTE: This will be the last scheduled set dancing opportunity for a while. Bryan and I agreed to take a break from organizing more of these until this fall. Hopefully we can figure out a longer-term location by then, too.

If anyone is motivated to get some more set dancing organized before then, please let me know, so I can help publicize.

Dear Madison-area set dancers,

You're all invited to our new (temporary) location, at Escape Java, tomorrow night, Monday, April 7, from 7 to 9 pm or so, for some casual sets.

Bryan has arranged one other date for us, on April 21, also at Escape Java. Dates beyond that are quite uncertain. If anyone has a practical suggestion of a great set-dancing venue in Madison, or instructors, etc. please contact Bryan at 258-9732.

Sets at Froth House on Thursday (last time at Froth House!)

Dear Madison-area set dancers,

The big news this time is that we have to move from The Froth House because they are shortening their evening hours. So this week will be our last time there - come enjoy it with us!

Come dance and learn Irish sets this Thursday, Mar. 27, 7 pm at The Froth House.

For April, Bryan has arranged us a temporary home at Escape Java, for *Mondays*, April 10 and 24. More details later, but meanwhile put those dates on your calendars!

The Froth House has a wood floor, a full bar and cafe menu, and comfy seating in the same room. They'll be open for us until at least until 9 pm. We'll have live traditional dance music (except possibly for recorded music during instruction).

Happy New Year! You're all invitated to come learn and dance Irish sets this Thursday, Jan. 10, 7 pm at the Froth House. This week, Milwaukee's gifted teacher and dancer Joanna Dupuis will be guiding us!

We hope none of you were as inconvenienced 2 weeks ago as John Curran was, who had come the farthest of the several of us who arrived right on time to the Dec. 27 dance at the Froth House, only to discover that the Froth House had forgotten to tell us they were going to be closed for that holiday evening! We have been assured that they are back on schedule now.

Dear Madison-area set dancers,

Here's your last-minute reminder of your invitation to come learn and dance Irish set dances this Thursday, Dec. 13, 7 pm at the Froth House.

The Froth House has a wood floor, a full bar and cafe menu, and comfy seating in the same room. The management normally closes up at 8 pm, but they have agreed to stay open for this event at least until 9 pm, and maybe even as late as 9:30 pm. Live traditional dance music (except for recorded music during the instruction phase) has been arranged.

There will be instruction in the basics for the first hour or so. This time, Bryan Whiting will take the lead and teach a set.
